Whether you’re a seasoned runner or a relaxed walker, the ROI 5K is a fun, non-competitive way to give back and get moving.
Two Ways to Participate:

Group Run – Join our group run/walk on Tuesday, September 30, 7:00 a.m., for a scenic 5K along the San Francisco Bay.

Virtual 5K – Complete your own 5K at your convenience using your favorite route, or try one of the curated paths on our free ROI 5K Strava club page.

Check-in and collect your official participant swag at The ASTRO Foundation (ROI) Pod in the South Lobby of the Moscone Center, San Francisco.
- Sunday, September 28: 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
- Monday, September 29: 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Check-in is NOT available during the morning of the group run on Tuesday, September 30.
Participants may check-in and collect swag for other participants. Please be prepared with the full name and email address for each person checking-in.
GROUP RUN on TUESDAY, SEPT 30:
Join hundreds of fellow ASTRO Annual Meeting attendees for a sunrise run or walk along the San Francisco Bay.
START & FINISH LINE: Paseo walkway, Southside of the Moscone Center South
- Start & Finish Line opens at 6:30 a.m.
- Opening ceremony at 7:00 a.m.
- Participants will be asked to self-select their pace:
- 8 minute per mile pace (estimated to finish in 24 minutes)
- 9 minute per mile pace (estimated to finish in 27 minutes)
- 10 minute per mile pace (estimated to finish in 30 minutes)
- 11 minute per mile pace (estimated to finish in 33 minutes)
- 12 minute per mile pace (estimated to finish in 36 minutes)
- Walking and jogging group
- Walking group
***Pace groups may be combined or expanded depending on group size.***
- Gear drop available at the start/finish line, but ROI is not liable for your items.
- Water will be available at the start, and water and granola bars will be available at finish.
- Bathrooms will be open inside the Moscone Center, but security requires that you have your conference registration badge to enter the building.
- ASTRO shuttle buses start at 7:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 30. It is recommend that you take alternative transportation to the start line, and you can take a shuttle back to you hotel after the race has concluded.

Please Note: The ROI 5k is fun, casual run or walk. It is not an officially timed activity and the route in not on a closed course.
Participants are required to follow all laws, including stopping at cross walks.
