On April 28, 2024, Cathy Terwilliger -- beloved wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, cousin, and friend -- died unexpectedly following a ruptured brain aneurysm. Cathy had dedicated her life to caring for others, in her 50-year career as a nurse; in her volunteer work with organizations including the Joan Nicole Prince Home, Make-a-Wish Foundation, and her parish at the Church of Immaculate Conception; and, most importantly, in the love she poured out to her family and her friends. Cathy was pure love, compassion, and kindness in human form, and she left an indelible mark on the lives of everyone she met. It should come as no surprise that her final act on this earth was to find one last way to care for others, offering her tissue and organs for donation. Please consider joining us, either through walking with us or via donation, to honor Cathy's memory and to help continue her legacy of offering care to others.
The Center for Donation & Transplant (CDT) offers hope and healing to donor families in upstate New York and western Vermont, empowering our community to restore the health of those needing an organ or tissue transplant through excellence of service, education and advocacy of organ and tissue donation. The CDT team was integral in ensuring that Cathy's wishes were honored in her final days and that her family had the opportunity to be beside her every step of the way.
Together, we can increase awareness, save lives, and leave a heroic lasting legacy. Your contribution stays local and fuels our mission-related initiatives of care, support, education, and outreach, and a donation of any size makes a difference.
